Surface Flaw Detection Scope - SFD240305A

We showcased an advanced optical solution capable of detecting surface scratched in a single shot.
The surface flaw detection scope "SFD240305A" utilizes Toshiba's patented technology "OneShotBRDF ^TM", enabling real-time visualization of scratches on glossy surfaces in color—without the need for post-processing on a PC.

This innovative scope captures images using a specialized optical system developed by Toshiba Research & Development Center. The system incorporates a unique filter that makes it possible to highlight surface flaws clearly and efficiently.

The Surface flaw detection scope was previously exhibited at VISION 2024 in Stuttgart, Germany, where it won the "VISION Award 2024".

Regarding receiving the Laser Industry Encouragement Award

Toshiba Corporation, Toshiba Information Systems (Japan) Corporation, and TOSHIBA TELI CORPORATION have received the Laser Industry Encouragement Award at the 18th (2026) Laser Society of Japan Industry Awards for their "OneShotBRDF^TM optical inspection technology" implemented in Surface Flaw Detection Scopes.
This award was granted in recognition of the technology’s uniqueness as an advanced optical inspection technology leveraging laser systems, and its high potential for future industrial applications.

Lens Flaw Detection Scope (New product)

The Lens Flaw Detection Scope is a developed by Tokai Optical Co., Ltd.
Equipped with Teli's surface flaw detection scope, it enables the detection of surface scratches on curved surfaces such as lenses and spherical glass.
This product is designed for installation in automated production and inspection lines, allowing fully automated lens inspection processes.
